Home Decor Candles

A very popular way to get your home to smell sweet and clean is with candles. Not all candles are created equal though. Most of the time, consumers just pick up the candles with the most lovely scents from the cleaning aisle of their grocery store. You may not be mindful that candles are available in several forms; soy candles, fragrance candles and natural candles are a few of the types of candles you can purchase. Each type of candle can be a worthy choice for you home; it just depends on what you enjoy.

Soy candles are an option besides natural candles and Paraffin candles. Soy candles are created with hydrogenated soybean oil, or, soy wax. The wax is often mixed with essential oils to create fragrance candles. In the early nineties, a man named Mike Richards invented soy wax. He created soy wax when he was looking for a less costly alternative to bees wax candles. While he worked in the candle making industry, he picked up on a growing demand for soy wax candles. To avert a fire hazard, soy candles must be burned in a heat resistant container, because soy candles liquify as they burn. Soy candles burn longer than natural and Paraffin candles and have a low melting point.

Palm oil from the palm plants of Southeast Asia are used to produce natural candles. The oils used in making natural candles are completey renewable. Palm plants grow fruits which are sent away to mills that create crude oil from the oils pulled from the fruits. Natural candles are produced in refineries that turn the crude oil into natural candles. Natural candles can also be mixed with essentials oils to create fragrance candles. Natural candles hold fragrance well and are resistant to melting in the heat. Natural candles can also be blended with other waxes to widen the range of possibilities. Due to their friendliness to the Earth, you may prefer these candles if you are environmentally conscious.

Candles that emit fragrances when they burn are fragrance candles. Scented candles may be made from soy wax, palm wax or Paraffin wax. The scent is created by mixing essential oils with the candle wax. The intensity of the scent is dependant on how much oil is added to the candle wax. Candles can produce a scent when they are not lit, if high quality essential oils are used. There’s a wide range of choices for fragrance candles, which can be obtained at your local grocery store and at many gift shops and boutiques.

When choosing candles for your home, you should always analyze the differences between the many types of candles. When selecting the best candles for your home, it basically boils down to preference, the most essential factor in your decision. If you want candles that are safe for the environment, palm wax candles are your best bet. If you are looking for candles with a longer melting time than traditional Paraffin wax candles you may prefer soy candles. The possibilities for fragrance candles are nearly endless. There’s a fragrance candle to please anyone, availabe in any material.
